McBain was first introduced to the scene in 1993. Using two CD players and two amps he quickly learned how to mix and blend sounds. From there, he would progress to CDJ's in a time when CDJ's were a faux pas. Years later, a friend would suggest he switch to vinyl and start spinning Drum & Bass. A decade after that, McBain graduated from bedroom DJ and began pursuing bigger things, with a little nudge from his friends. His Drum & Bass styles range from Jazzy-atmospheric beats to liquefied groove, using his honed skills to showcase passionate and energetic sets with a warm, feel good feeling. While he is better known for Drum & Bass, his roots are firmly planted in Trance, and he has been known to throw down with a wide variety of genres: Psy-Trance, Deep House, Funky Breaks, Downtempo and more. McBain can also be found behind a lens as a professional photographer. He has sought after work with Trancecore, Oh Snap, GOMP, Git Nice Productions, and In A Home, coupled with his skills behind the decks and in the studio, have forged McBain into a powerful force - forever stamping his mark onto the scene. Recently he has relocated to Nelson, B.C. to focus on music production and be inspired by the beauty that is the mountains. It all started back in 1990 with The Happy Mondays & Stone Roses. Rave was still underground & Illegal The sound was fresh. It all started when I listened to a mixtape a mate was listenin to he said have a listen to this. I soon started to search for pirate stations around my local area, MIX FM, FRESH FM (Leicester) & KOOL FM (Birmingham). Has I got more into the music I thought I would have a go at DJin so brought myself a pair of soundlab belt drives & a numark mixer & buy my vinyl from 5HQ. In 2009 I thought I would have a go at producin my own tracks. UNDER CONTRUCTION

I first started djing around about 12 years ago when i was 17. It was by chance i knew a dj in a bar and one week he asked me if i could do his set for him as he couldnt make it and gave me a brief lesson on what to do and from there i was hooked. I started getting sets playing hip hop and garage in Doncaster and sheffield and then discovered speed garage in 2001 and then started playing that. During that time myself and 2 others started a label called Gridlockd Records which became one of the biggest labels in the scene in a very short time as we were the only label making original tracks. Fast forward 12 years and in that time i played the first bassline set on bbc 1xtra, put together a compilation for ministry of sound (Maximum bass 2007) And had tracks signed to mos and all around the world (Universal). I decided in 2008 that i wasnt gonna pidgeonhole myself to one genre and went self employed as a dj and tutor. Around that time i got my own show on local legal radio station sine fm and my weekend vibes show did so well they moved me from 2-3 sat afternoon to 6-8 saturday night the show before dj legend graeme park. Nowadays i do a show called the history of Dance music on sine fm 102.6fm in Doncaster or www.sinefm.com worldwide every tuesday evening 8pm-10pm.
